Drink Zero Hour is committed to making our website accessible to everyone — regardless of ability or assistive technology used. We're working toward conformance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA across the site.
1. What We've Built
The site is designed with the following accessibility considerations in mind:
- Semantic HTML — landmarks, headings, and lists used correctly so screen readers can navigate the structure.
- Keyboard navigation — all interactive elements (links, buttons, accordions, forms) can be reached and operated using only the keyboard.
- Visible focus states — clear focus indicators on interactive elements.
- Alt text — meaningful descriptions on content images; decorative images marked
aria-hidden. - Color contrast — body text and interactive elements meet AA contrast targets against their backgrounds.
- Reduced motion — animations honor
prefers-reduced-motionwhere supported. - Form labels — every form input has a visible or programmatic label, and required fields are clearly indicated.
2. Known Limitations
Some areas we're still actively improving:
- Auto-rotating marquee elements — currently pause on hover; we're adding a manual pause button.
- The hover-sound effect — purely decorative, can be muted in your browser. We're adding an in-site sound-toggle in a future release.
- Older video content may lack captions — we're updating this on a rolling basis.
3. Assistive Technology
The site is tested against the latest stable versions of:
- Screen readers: VoiceOver (macOS / iOS), NVDA (Windows), TalkBack (Android).
- Browsers: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge — current and previous major versions.
4. Reporting Accessibility Issues
If you run into a barrier on this site — anywhere, any device, any tech — please tell us. We treat accessibility issues as bugs and prioritize fixes.
Email accessibility@drinkzerohour.com with:
- The page or feature where you ran into the problem.
- What you were trying to do.
- Your assistive technology, browser, and operating system (if you're comfortable sharing).
We respond within 2 business days with an acknowledgment and an estimated fix timeline.
5. Ongoing Commitment
Accessibility isn't a one-time check — it's part of how we build. Every new feature is reviewed against our internal accessibility checklist before launch, and we run quarterly audits against WCAG 2.1 AA.
